Fluval 405 Media advice

Hi guys, what would be the best media to add to this filter. I currently have zero carb and think ammonia stones with those plastic circle things. Please help

 

I would go for some Seachem Matrix(Biological) & Seachem purigen for chemical...

 

I have the purigen in my internal filter but will add the matrix. Is there any particular order it should be in. And what are the bio balls used for.

 

Follow the flow of your canister & stack them accordingly , the fluval flows if I understand correctly from bottom-to-top...So you always put Mechanical filtration first(spunges & flos) then you put your bio-media for Bacteria to grow on & lastly you put your chemical filtration - Bio balls is also for bacteria , but they not Ayoba coz they plastic & bacteria don't grow on them so good...

No problem...If matrix is to expensive , I see nothing wrong with normal Ceramic rings...But Matrix Bio media is the best!

 

I saw the price but will certainly invest in this beautiful hobby. The only equipment im short of is CO2 system. But will wait for Chrisa lol

 

I not a big fan of plants , like rocks & wood & Pfs...

 

I am eagerly wanting some spider wood but jeepers the price for that would seems high. looking around till i find something in the budget
