Forum upgrade at 4pm today!

It's upgrade time again. Forum will be offline from about 4pm. Should hopefully be done with the upgrade in under an hour.

Mainly just doing a vBulleting upgrade from 4.1.3 to 4.1.4 PL2 (4.1.4 with 2 patches applied).

This is what vb mentioned for changes from 4.1.3 for 4.1.4:

 

I doubt we will notice anything that is going to change. Probably just better functionality.

@Rory are we going .5 or .4?

 

4.1.5 still beta so going with 4.1.4.

 

I think the main changes you will notice is the editor box is quite different. It also auto saves your posts just in case.

 

Will we be able to see who is online (box on the left currently online) like we had about two months ago, that was a nifty tool lol.

If they have fixed it to work with Internet Exploerer. It actually worked perfectly fine if you used Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari or Opera, but if you used Internet Explorer is messed up your homescreen

 

Only IE8 as far as I know? IE9 was fine, apart from the fact that IE9 is a pain in the royal butt! Hate it, but its better than Google Crome, and Firefox c0cks my PC up! Can't win!

Hein I will enable that box and see if it's been fixed, but since it's actually part of vBA CMPS I doubt it.

 

You should consider Opera @Big G. I've used it since it first came out back in the late 90's and have never looked back. IE is so slow compared to opera.

@Zoom... Just installed Opera 11.5 I think, and it just took twice as long to load this page as IE9. Otherwide, it looks virtually the same?

If you just installed it then it would have had to download all the images etc as opposed to where you've already got them cached in ie9.

 

Well, we'll see how it goes I guess? Starting to go a bit quicker now! I'm guessing there's a load of plug-ins that it'll need to load in too? Just had to do Flash.
