Hi where are you located and what is he feeding on?

 

Hi. Randburg in Johannesburg. He has eaten frozen food but recently I have been feeding him live feeder fish (baby shubinkins)

 

And in what kind of water salinity are you keeping him?

 

The tank is completely fresh water, I put a handful of coarse salt every so often.

What an interesting fish!! Is it also venomous/poisonous like the saltwater variety?

 

@francoisve as far as I know they do have the poison spines in their dorsal fins

 

I believe it also crocks

 

Ive tried very hard to convince my wife that this fish will look great here with us, no luck. Sigh, such an interesting fish.
