My eggs were gone too this morning (that doesn't sound right... LOL)
Ok, "the eggs in my tank" were gone...
Could it be because of the drop in the water temperature over the last few days??? Is that perhaps why they spawned?

@Marco, I am really impressed with the strength of the fish I have seen from you on this forum. Does that vitality transfer to the Offspring If your line is crossed out to a Golden Variety or another of the other imports ? I am really glad to see Rams getting so much attention in South Africa now. I saw Electric Blues in Poland about 6 years ago , I was immediately aware of the quality differences between those and the fish I had seen in SA up to that point.

I agree with you @scubabravo - @Marco is probably breeding the best rams available in SA and from what I can gather from other forums, much better than the ones available in the US. His rams are probably on par with Europe if not better.

If only we can get Marco to breed some other SA dwarfs....

WOW guys! Thank you all very much for the kind words!

Its always nice to hear such nice comments, and its an absolute pleasure to be able to share the wonder of this small fish with others.

Im always amazed at ppl's response to keeping Rams. At first some are reluctant and within a day or 2 of keeping a pair they call to say what pleasure and entertainment a pair of Rams bring to a fish tank.

Kudo's to probably the most incredible and most beautiful of all the dwarf cichlids.

    Hi @scubabravo
Sorry I forgot to answer your question
I Started out with only German blues, then added Golden females and also Electric blue males.
I kept breeding out and back until now, and now I have a pure line of the original blue, which new blood has been added to, as well as a Golden, Electric blue as well as Powder blue line.
I will have some Powder as well as Electric blues available in abt 2 mths, and hopefully by abt a mth later I should have some Golden as well as German blues available.
All show same vigour and live long happy lives. The Electric blue and Powder blues can be a tad aggressive towards females though. Its something I am trying to breed out but it takes time, if it will ever be totally gone.

    Rgds

    Marco
