Looking good man will the front section lift up with hinges? or will you just be removing the whole hood when you do tank maintenance?

    Are those 2 feeding holes?

Why do you have a raised section for the light box?

Awesome hood setup dude, I dont like the light box section.

Will just have to pieces of wood for the top section the front section will lift up.

You could make the canopy flush on top and cut a vent in the side closest to the wall

He didn't tell you the best part. You can get it a lot cheaper from a fabric shop. They call it batting.

Keep an eye on it. It will get clogged really quickly when your tank has plants and fish. You will probably need to replace it weekly depending on your tank.

dope - never seen a tank crack that bad with so much bracing. Almost looks like the top support did it's job but week or way to thin glass cracked on bulge?

yes. Crack should've started on lowest point where pressure was.
Should've listened to you and sold it.

So the real question - is this the panel you replaced or the old panel - if it is the old panel then I have a theory - maybe the tank was made originally from recycled glass or is stood in direct sunlight with no water for a long time, my understanding both these could weaken glass over time.

All is not lost .. turn the tank around and turn the top part into a terrarium - think a 1.5M terraium is way more of a challenge
