Great Wimbledon this year!

Since there is a strong football thread going, I feel free to put up a thread on my sport of choice, tennis, with Wimbledon (the highlight of the tennis calendar) coming to a conclusion.

Great wimby this year, with a good upset early, some close calls for the big guns and the semi finalists all hitting form in the quarters.

I'm so glad I only work till 2pm on a Friday, looking forward to watching some AWESOME tennis this afternoon!

Have you been watching lately oscar freak? Nadal, Federer and Djokovic are the best shot makers in my books ever. Combine that with there movement over the court! I agree the Sampras / Ivanisavic era was a wham / bam affair, but not anymore.

As for ladies tennis: I don't what ladies tennis...... combining poor quality tennis with that schreeking.... no thanks!

 

I remember as a kid my "kiddies programmes" were stopped for "like EVER" because of the tennis. (Or that may have been the excuse my mom used... "Tennis is on in place of your programmes, Ash." And I HATED tennis. I couldn't watch tv for what seemed an eternity.

I still have this mental block when I see tennis on tv.

Although I did enjoy watching a match whilst I was stuck on a stationery bike a gym the other day.

 

I truly hope Fed continues his form he showed against Djokovic. When playing like that he is unbeatable.
