    Hi RYAN ?????? Seriously?

I think you would need gravel, a filter, some lights, water and once your tank has cycled, some fish.

Gert-- just keep in mind that many of those "guests" are actually members who have logged out of TASA. Many people leave there PC's on, but simply log out of all their websites (TASA, TWITTER, FACEBOOK...)

If we can only get 50% of the guests to join TASA and MASA, we will have a much better educated fish hobbyist.
When 50% of the guests (with internet access) join, they will be able to help their friends, without internet, and thus help to educate other people.
Think what this could do to the hobby / industry and overall the knowledge of the average fish/plant- keeper!
More people will be able to correctly identify a species and correct LFS's with BL species and nudge them in the right direction.
Lets think big and think about this, to get the larger picture.

Would be nice but some of the more experienced fishkeepers shouldn't pick on newbies when they ask questions. Everyone should be treated the same. I've seen members be nice to others and help out, and then they choose somebody else to insult and kick out. I know there's some of the members who are wonderful, @Gert Combrink, @tracyp, @Wyvren, @Henk Hugo, @Zoom, though, but it only needs one worm to spoil an apple.

Too much negativity in my post, but thanks for those who have helped me out on my journey!

Hi all! Glad to have finally found a SA forum :p Have been on some others but mostly are American :/

    Bit of my background :)

I'm from the UK, moved here 4 months ago to be with my man :) Am currently living in Randburg. My past experience is mostly from childhood having a 400+L tank which always fascinated me :) Then worked in a local pet shop specialising in Reptiles and our little fishy friends :)

Have now gotten my partner into the hobby (which has turned into a passion, and we're currently planning on bigger tanks and lots more fishies :) )

So glad to be here! Hope I can possibly help out and learn a lot more!

    -Kay

Welcome @SAllott! Also a newbie here but have been hooked on this forum since I came here! :)

Your best bet is to hop into the "Beginner Discussions" http://www.tropicalaquarium.co.za/forumdisplay.php?6-Beginner-Discussions <-- there! :)

Have a look through and see if you can find what you're looking for, if you can't then post your own thread and I've no doubt this little group of crazies can point you in the right direction!

I hope you enjoy this forum as much as I do!
    -Kay

EDIT: Also, I may not be as much help as the others here, but I've been through a lot of fish trying to 'perfect' my community tank.. So if you want to shoot me a question then feel free.. I can't guarantee an amazing answer but I'll help as much as I can! :)
