hahahaha sorry. i've got a 600l x 300w x 400h tank. it's still empty don't know what i'm gonna put in yet. that's why i want to look at a bigger variety before i just buy

 

No worries. I set myself up for that! So it's approximately 70l. What equipment have you got ie filters, lights etc

 

normal corner air filter and a submerged water filter not sure of the light got a 200w heater normal air pump and some palstic plants, rocks and a clay barrel

 

Hello and Welcome. Please update your location. That way members from your area can get in contact with you and share ideas, plants etc. Lots of generous peeps here. :aetsch:

 

Post some pics of your equipment when you get a chance or maybe give us some makes and specs. The rule of thumb for filtration is that you want to "process" your water through your filter about 4 times an hour so you would be looking at about 300l/hr so check the specs.

By the way, you have gone about this in the best possible manner by coming here and asking questions first. Do you have any particular fish in mind?

 

thx i will. i.m thinking about a community tank i love guppies, platy, sowrds, etc. some tetra's. thx for the advice will post some pics tonight or tomorrow

I currently have a 100l community tank. You could maybe go for 1 or 2 species of schooling type fish (tetras are advised to be kept in schools of minimum 6), a few guppies, maybe a few corydora catfish. Look around the site at the members tanks for a few ideas.

Depends - Equipment or fish? My 3 lfs's are all owned by one family so they generally have the same stuff.

 

i mean fish. here in the free state you don't really get a big variety. there are about 6 lfs's here that i know of and they have more or less the same stuff and fish, and worst of all the tanks are very dirty and untidy. that's why i don't really want to buy from them. i'm scared of sick fish.
