    No idea!
    But you can see the darker embryos in some of them.

    It looks to me like a Dictyosphaeria, probably D. versluysii. It is a type of spongy green algae (Chlorophyta), and the dark spots are merely a concentration of chloroplasts. Outside chance, it could be a Codium, but I lean towards Dictyosphaeria.

    Get yourself a copy of "Two Oceans: A guide to the marine life of southern Africa". It is by far the most useful field guide to marine life out there.
