Jagga's Setup

    Hi Guys ,

    Here is my setup and pics :

    Tank : 1500 x 600 x 650

    Sump :900 x 450 x 350

    Filtration : 4L matrix
    250ml Purigen (To remove the tannins)
    1L seramic rings (had it lying around)
    Sponge
    Filter floss

    Heating : 300w Jager

    Lighting : 2 x t8 40w
    2 x t5 54w 6500k

    Plants : only in the tank for 5 days now [TABLE="width: 163"]

    [TD] 2 x Hygrophyla Polysperma

    [TR]
    [TD] 2 x Anubia nanna

    [TD] 0 x Cabomba (Looking for some :( )

    [/TR]
    [TR]
    [TD] 0 x Aponogeton (Looking for some :( )
    [/TD]
    [/TR]
    [TR]
    [TD] 2 x nymphea sp green variety
    [/TD]
    [/TR]
    [TR]
    [TD] 2 x Vallis

    Substrate : 30kg PFS
    30kg White and black fine gravel
    14kg Florite Black

    Hardscape : Driftwood (15kg when it was dry)


    Fish : 10 x Cardinals (In tank. And yes i know you cant see them , they shiding all the time :(. Hope that will change soon)
    2 x German Blue Rams (In quarintine Tank)
    3 x Pepper Cory's (In quarintine Tank)
    2 x Ancistrus (In quarintine Tank)

    The tank has been cycling for three weeks now.

    THIS WILL BE A DISCUS TANK !!!!!!!:D

    smart tank jagga, nice size, i think CABOMBA Is BL, not too sure though, so be careful with that one. how many discus will you keep in there? it is going to look fantastic with discus in there

    Nice going mate!!! Just a word of warning on the Cabomba - it's BL and wont survive the warm water anyways.... Look out for some Ambulia - looks almost the same + can take the warmer water....

    @Nadeem I dont know if Cabomba is black listed , but I'm sure some one will confirm that soon :)
    The first batch of discus would be about 8 - 10. Hopefully all from Marco :p

    Nice setup! cabomba and anubia's are Blacklisted.. all the good plants are lol.

    @azurekoi thank you , then Ambulia will replace Cabomba on my list :blink:

    That is the nice thing about TASA.If you want to someting about the hoby , there is always a quick answer.

    He,he.... now just watch out though,two of the Ambulia's(Limnophila sessiliflora and indica) are BL.... the good news is that the commonly availible L.aquatica is quite easy to find... Didi at Pet Stop regularly gets some from a client of his that grows it in her Discus tanks...so QED if you can get there... Cheap too at R10 for a small bunch....

    6 weeks , but I still have tannins.
    Thats why i got purigen :)

    The Ram looks like a female to me, judging by the rounded dorsal and anal fins and the line through the eye that is not that dark.

    @jagga its very easy... when you go buy them from your lfs get one with a pink belly and one without.. the pink belly one is the female.
    cant help you with that pic but here is an old pic of my breeding pair..see if can get anything from this

    Thanks,but the problem is that the other ram died and now i need to get a partner for this one:confused:
