    Greetings all :)

I've had this tank for a while now, and I wasn't all too happy with the scape before, so I took a few suggestions and decided to go with Java moss & Java fern only.

Occupants: 1 male gourami, 2 male guppies
    Volume: 40L
    Filtration: 2 internal filters
    Light: 1x 13w 7200k PL (couldn't find a 6400/6500k bulb)
    Temp: 25C

Please excuse the quality, these photo's were taken in a bit of a rush:

Meet Mr. Gourami, formerly known as Mr. Grumpy.
He's got attitude, but I love him to bits!
He usually comes to the side of the tank where I am to say hi... even if I'm busy in the kitchen he'll swim around staring at me.

Thanks Donny :) They're not as good as I'd like them to be as I'm still struggling with soft water, and I'm a bit wary of dosing at the moment because I can't test for everything right now.

Very simple and good looking, I like.
Keep that moss trimmed nicely as Java moss can look very slopy when you
    just let it go.

    Hey Linxie,
I see you found a nice home for that gourami!

Thanks Vis, Aquanewbie & Ace for your replies :)

Vis, will do ^^, I recently bought a nice pair of trimming scissors which makes the job so much easier.

Aquanewbie, yeah he desperately needed a tank of his own. Aggressive little tyke he is :D I love him to bits though.

Ace, thanks :) What would you recommend I downscale to? I've got the other light the fitting came with, but I think it's only 3400k :( I'm not sure of the wattage. Should I maybe bring it down to 9watts?

Has any of you had problems with java moss starting to grow black algea on it? my moss clumped tank is now half as stocked because i took out most of the "infected" moss and put it in an icecream tub in a cupboard with no light last night in hopes that a blackout will remove the algae?

Lindy, your tank is starting off quite nicely, look forward to seeing it when the moss grafts itself :)

Very cool looking tank, kinda makes me want to redo my 1.5ft...

As for the Java moss with the black algae, I've had it on a few pieces, but it never really spreads. Could you be feeding too much?

    Thanks Ferryman & Whipme :)

I've had no problems with algae on the moss.
