@TetraJacques I've also been considering getting rams in the next few months. I spoke to Marco about them some time ago, he breeds them and is very knowledgeable on them, maybe you could also speak to him about them when you're ready..

How ridiculous is that! I'd expect that sort of thing to come into effect if people were ordering 4 or more items every month, nevermind annually. At least anything administrative is a mess in SA and its not enforced.

Yeah @TetraJacques - rams are awesome but usually require a very stable setup that's been running several months - just a heads up. Also worth remembering they need 28C water and that limits what fish can be kept with them.

Thank, if I do decide on them I will make it a species only tank. I'll go and do some research on them before I buy just to make sure I can take care of them.

Will my 150l sump tank be good enough for them?

Yeah they are wonderful fish! I would suggest doing as much research as you can in general. A ram ‘colony’ will work in a 150l in principle but can’t comment on how well as I’ve only kept several rams per tank in my experience. For a community, 4 would work in a 150l, for reference.

Strange, when I started with aquariums I thought 150l was big enough for a decent amount of fish but I'm thinking otherwise now. I did it completely the wrong way around. Bought a tank, got plants and then did research. Tank failed due to overstock ing but I have learned a lot in the past two years.

We all in the same boat and on the same journey. I think it ends with total happiness though
