    Nice loaches!

What fish do you plan to keep in the Boyu?

Not sure yet, will decide over the next week or so.

Also need a few more mid-water fish for the big tank.
Had three large Bala Sharks I got with the tank years ago, as stunning as they were they were very nervous and really disrupted the rest of the tank - gave them to a friend this week.

Still being undecided I am now using it to grow a few fish for later relocation to the bigger tank, after which I will decide, currently I am leaning towards Tangs or even a marine conversion (yes I know... )

So, for now, after changing the two driftwood pieces out for one I which convinced the LFS owner to sell from one of his display tanks over the weekend, the tank currently hosts:

    - 3 x Ancistrus
    - 1 x Synodontis from the large tank (I had three, this being the mid-sized of them and being bullied by the largest one)
    - 8 x Rummy-nose Tetras
    - 4 x Angels

I also started planting the big tank yesterday, but the planting is so sparse I will rather wait till I have more plants before I take new photos.

Also not sure if I want to plant the smaller tank at this stage, so going to hold off on that for now.

The baby tank with new driftwood and fish...

It looks like my boyu has the same filtration as yours.

The filter was confusing as heck to setup at first rofl, but yeah, does your filter have
the outlet nozzle into the tank including an outlet to the trickle filter in the hood?

If this is the same one, what's the current produced by that filter like?

Yes, mine has the standard filter which is part of the cover, with the split pump output, one going to the spray bar over the filter media and another outlet directly into the tank (with a T where one can connect a piece of tube if you want air added to that).

Fortunately I have used a tank with a similar setup before, and my filter is set up as follows (bottom of tray to top)
    - Seachem Matrix
    - Plastic grids which came with the filter
    - Filter Sponge cut to fit snugly covering the entire tray
    - Ceramic rings directly under the spray bar
    - Seachem Purigen where the water runs out of the tray back into the tank

I have turned the spray bar to spray horizontally over the filter media rather than directly down into it - in fact I am considering making another row of holes in the spray bar so it sprays horizontally towards the front as well as the back of the filter media (will try this with a spare piece of tubing I have)

Broder has blocked the direct tank outlet on his 1.5m Boyu which results in quite a bit more water going through the filter media rather than just circulating through the pump (I will also experiment with this over time, for now I am happy with the efficiency of the filter)

Setup as standard the current at the back of the tank is fairly strong but not excessively so in my opinion, and I do not see any "dead spots" in the tank current wise, with current at the front being very gentle.

Man that's a nice filtration setup... Anyways glad to hear that info... Can split or route flow as necessary and since I have a canister to add I might have to much flow adding both. Its awesome to see the inlet causing some bubbles there...

Added a few plants, some bought and some from clippings I got this morning, both tanks will still (especially the bigger one) will still need quite a few plants before it makes a real difference.

Struggling with scaping and planting, some guys just have a talent for that, I sadly do not but I am learning.

Big tank as it looks now, still lots of real estate left to plant, and tomorrow it gets a black background

And the baby tank bubbling along, also with a few plants added
