The fish room hit 15 degrees - so it was time to start adding some heaters to some of the tanks. This one was rather funny. It took the fish under a minute to move closer to the heater. This is set to 19 so no big shock, guppies get slow when they start to get cold, best to add a heater before they stop moving :blink1:

@10i Yeah - all are in perfect health - actually the lowest they have gone to in the past was 11 degrees - so it must be hardy buggers.

@Firefly - lower temp means slower growth, less breeding, fish live longer and they eat less so less water changes. I have to wonder if this high temp thing is not push to high sometimes ... yes some fish need higher temp but I tend to not keep any of those.

Always - I realised that looking at the first pic you might have thought that this was only one tank and that the rest was reflection .. well actually this is two 3ft tanks that now have the 150W heaters in them. Below proof of life - that the heat huddle did not damage any of the fish .. water flow is provided via the Eheim HOB's that drive the HMF in front of it, all the filtration is on the other side of the tank but return is also on the back wall so a nice water movement. Before anybody asks, the power cord on the heaters was not long enough to reach the available power points - that is why the heaters are not behind the HMF wall :)

They all survived - not that I would notice if I lost a few - actually I spotted some fry ..

Was very happy with the HMF and HOB combination. Will need to look at getting better light on to these for warmer month since I will be feeding more I need better plant growth.
