Hi all, ive been a bit quiet here on TASA of late as ive been fortunate enough to finally get my pair of marine clownfish to spawn and after MANY MANY hours of frustration, I have managed to raise up 3 batches of offspring. I know these fishes are not freshwater, but I thought id show you guys what these little guys look like now.

Enjoy, btw these are Frenatus clowns aka tomato clowns.

Really nice what they look like at such a small size.

What did you use as their first food?

First food is Rotifers that are fed phytoplankton, which contain the necessary lipids the larvae need to develope. Around 2 weeks I start adding a powder food obtained from Prof Dirk as well as finely crushed bs flake.

Hey guys, been a bit quiet here but still lurk around from time to time when I get a moment. My clownfish project has consumed pretty much most of my free time and with water restrictions here in the Cape, ive scaled down on my angelfish breeding. Instead ive set out to create new lines of angels with awesome finnage ( will start a thread shortly about these guys ) as well as growing out a new batch of para free discus.

But in the meantime, here is a photo of a small batch of clowns around 4 months old:
