So I think I might've accidentally picked up a shoot of Hygrophila Polysperma 'Rosanervig' in the last batch of the two bad quality plants I got on Sunday. I stuck this shoot in just to see if my assumption was correct and so far, it looks like it. Here's some close-ups....lemme know if you guys agree or have other thoughts pls.








I think I caused a slight imbalance this week re ferts (tried to increase it), and now noticed the algae slowly starting to grow back on the ground. I've reverted to what I was doing. Will also do 30% water change on Saturday.

I did the 2nd major trim on Saturday.



The pearlweed started to run into territories it shouldn't, so I had to cut it back. The stargrass just went mental, so I had to trim accordingly too.

@A new day - Looks like that both our suspicions of that shoot at the back is incorrect...that shoot started growing and it looks exactly like the Mayca Fluviatilis. What a downer

I've seen some online videos of guys using a small powerhead (right next to the diffuser) to push the CO2 throughout the tank, with the belief that it's more effective in getting the CO2 everywhere. Any thoughts to share on this?

Where did you get so lucky? Saw one at pet world n1 two weeks ago

 

A friend of mine arranged it. I was stumped when he called me....had to immediately jump on the road if I wanted it. Needless to say, that was an easy choice.

 

Saw 2 for sale as "rock shrimp" at pets adventure in Claremont a few days ago. They were R200 a pop , not too bad

 

There's also an ad on Gumtree for bamboo shrimp. Think the guy was based in Crawford. Also over R200 each.

 

So one of the bamboo shrimps molted. Found this earlier this morning.
