your lotus is looking really nice!

your loach on the leaf is a nice contrasting image - looks pretty cool! You are going to have to convince your wife to allow this tank to stay :) :)

why are you up so early this morning? At least I have an excuse :D I have a scuba dive booked at 7:30am. :)

Hi, what is the grass called to the right of your tiger lotus? When it spreads more, and you trim it, I'm going to have to come get a cutting. :) :)

My dog woke me up at 5:30 and once I am awake I dont sleep again. I think its dwarf hairgrass. I hope it will spread all over the front of the tank - its a nice ground cover although my corys struggle to get food when it falls between the blades

thanks, it would look amazing as a ground cover in the front.

our dive has also been cancelled, apparently it's mud out there today.

Thanks for the compliments. My tank has been running since November 2010. No CO2 but I do use excel twice a week when I remember. No ferts. There are no difficult plants to keep in it. I use rainwater and do a 25l water change once a week

Very nice looking tank. How many serpae tetras do you have in the tank and do you notice them nipping any fins?

I have 2. They dont nip any fins. I had 6 but after a wc one day 4 died. The other 2 have survived on their own for about 18 months now

Serpae are very nice and active but IMO rosy tetra offer all the advantages of Serpae but have a very nice hooked fin and are a little more colourful.

That pic doesnt do the fish justice. The fin on top gets about double that size and get a hook-like shape on the males. And they are more reddish. Beautiful fish.
