@ Ziyaadb: Yeah there was a episode of Carte Blanche on the poor state of our water works systems: http://www.puresa.co.za/SAWater/CarteBlanche.aspx Pretty shocking, but what can you expect from the current goverment...

A few more pictures of my HOB filter setup, plants and moss are doing great at sucking up the extra nitrates and other waste that is being produced by the fish:

So after much screaming and throwing toys out of cot I finally got the globes I was looking for the past month. They did not have 5600K so I got 6500K and they gave me a 25% discount so I paid R 70 for two lights.

Seems they are rare as hens teeth...

@Ziyaadb: Funny thing is it is actually meant for reptiles, so I removed the bulb and replaced it with 24 watt 6500 kelvin light. Works perfectly for my setup. I bought it for R 280 at a local reptile store.

@Ziyaadb: It would work perfectly for your needs then. What area do you live in Ziyaadb? Here is the model and make so you can ask around your local pet shops:

It is a Haiyang, and the model you are looking for is the SN-450. I bought it from Animal Kingdom in Pretoria but they have a branch and Roodepoort.

So the moss growing on the ramp of my planted HOB started to grow too much so I decided to trim it back:

Was left with a nice big amount of moss:

Which I used to attached to a piece of driftwood in my tank:

While I was busy working on my tank I found that my Kribensis laid some eggs on a piece of wood looks like they are about to hatch. The mom and dad must have looked after them really good and cleaned them since there is no fungus on them.

@Pierré Schoonraad: I hope so but highly unlikely too many hungry mouths, but I can hope since the spot were they laid the eggs are hard to reach and out of the way.

Seems the Kuhli Loaches got to the eggs while the Kribensis were feeding pity it looked like they would have gone the distance with the eggs.
