@Ziyaadb: Don't I know it at one point I had 8 tanks running, cut it down to a single one now having one tank that you can focus on works better for me.

Yup I know the feeling. Went over to the dark side wasted tons of $$$$ and now going back to a fw and a simple marine tank

I was cleaning my hob and removed the slipway I have made out of spiky moss and removed it from the slipway. Since I don't have space on any of my driftwood I decided to mount it against the side of my tank underneath my light in front of the flow of the HOB:

Really impressed with my plant growth considering I am using no CO2 and dosing tropica ferts and DIY root tabs ever so often, the Red & Green Cryptocorynes is the slowest grower but it has a nice deep purple colour now:

Also the moss I got from someone else has finally acclimatized and started to grow nicely on the piece of driftwood:

The Nana Anubai is also a very slow grower but has come along nicely from just the 3 plant-lets I got when I first attached it too a peace of driftwood:

The Dwarf Java Fern has also acclimatized nicely since I bought it from Dorries:

And the plant that grows the fastest in the tank the Anubias Caladifolia:

The Green Cryptocorynes has also started picking up speed:

And the plants in my planted HOB are growing like crazy and loving cleaning my tank water:

@Pierré Schoonraad: Thanks I really am enjoying this tank, even more so when I turned it from a high tech setup into a low tech one. And I actually saw some of my shrimp today I have like 80 red/black/glass but having so much plants/wood/rock in my tank it is hard to spot them.

Know what you mean. I whent from low tech in two tanks and then got a 30 cm cube for high tech, which is managable. The low tech tanks is more interesting, in my case, as you can stock them with more fish.

Well done on this tank. Even though it is not hi-tech in terms of CO2, your planted hob and diy ups setup certainly makes it geeky, if not hi-tech.

You should enter this one on TOTM.

Also loving the toolbox setup I have for all of my equipment, works like a charm:

This was my previous setup before I move to a bigger tank, before that I has a 250 litre tank but had to sell it due to space constraints:

Here is what is going on inside my HOB filter, I put a piece of sponge on the top and just placed some moss on it. After a month or two the moss has covered the entire top part of the sponge:

This is the inside of my filter, 4 different layers of batting followed by my filter media a mix of clay balls, ceramic rings and seachem matrix. I found if I put the filter media first most of the dirt get's stuck there instead of my batting. On top of that a coarse sponge were my plants and moss are planted in.

You can see the roots of the plants growing through the sponge and making their way down the HOB filter. I trim them whenever I clean it and they grow back within a week or so.

@HEIHACHI: Thanks, the planted HOB is helping considerably with my tank and my fishes health. Since starting it 8 months ago I have had zero disease issues or health issues from my fish and I only need to change my water once a month instead of once every week.
