@OBI: My tank is a 80 litre and the HOB does 1200 lph and is rated for up to 300 litres. So I am sure it will work just fine on a 100 litre. The Chinese Lucky Bamboo you can find at those China malls or any Chinese shops, they keep it and sell it as a good fortune token. I bought mine for R5 a piece. The other plant in the HOB is Philodendron scandens which you can find at most nurseries. There is a bunch of plants that you can grow in water including some herb plants, a quick google will help you. This is the model I have Aquaclear 70 it is the second largest one in the range. The largest being the 110 which would not fit my tank:

Common name for the plant I said you can use is Pathos, fast growing low light requirements.

This is what my Nitrate and Nitrite levels look like after 24 days without a water change I do a 50% water change each month and that is it. All thanks to my little planted HOB project, also noticed my fish are far more disease resistant and look more healthy and happy than before I planted my HOB. Will post the Ammonia test results shortly

Wow! That is really fantastic! I love the idea of removing the nitrates naturally! I see you did a nitrite test. Can you possibly do a nitrate test as well? Your tank looks amazing

@Zuraki First test is Nitrate second is Nitrite, I just lost the paper for the Nitrite test so I used the Nitrate paper as they are pretty much the same.

Ah ok I see. Very impressive! I would like to try something similar one day with a HOB filter setup. It's almost like a mini paludarium

Yeah you are basically only limited by the space you have here are some other examples, I went for duller plants because they tend to be faster growers:

Setup the canister filter next too the tank and cut some filter pads for it. Will go buy filter media for it.

Added the canister filter today, so now I have a extra 300 litres of filtration to supplement my HOB filter:
