Wow! Compliments on the rams! Those loaches are great I've never seen them before. Your tank is awesome!

@HeinrichLourens: Thanks, the black loaches are Kuhli loaches just the black variety instead of the striped and those that look like the colour of my substrate are panther loaches.

The kuhlis I know they can be so funny! Especially when they climb trees and then peak out the top an they're like "what are you lookin at?" The panther loaches are new to me though.

@HeinrichLourens: Yeah my Kuhli loaches play between my Java Fern leaves all day, they swim too the top of the leaves and then slide all the way down too the bottom, imagine seeing 10 of them doing is constantly every day. The Panther loaches are also new too me so when I had the chance to buy them I did as you don't see them often.

Yes for sure! I'm staggered to see how well your plants are going without C02. Just shows that it can be done....

Yeah you really don't need to spend thousands of rands on having a nice looking tank. I set myself a monthly budget on what I am allowed to spend on the tank, if I cannot afford it I don't get it or I just DIY it.

My little "anti fish walking device" or if you want to call it a glass lid with cupboard handles still works perfectly haven't lost a single fish that decided to go take a walk outside syndrome.

Got a male and female Dwarf Flag Cichlid today, not in the best condition but will change once they spend a few months in my tank. Cant get a proper image as they are hiding. So another picture will have to do.

Found a nice piece of hard scape that I am going to use to replace the small piece of driftwood I have in my tank:

Okay so I messed around with the left hand corner of my tank first I removed the two Amazon Swords and then tried moving the piece of drifwood with moss on it around till I was happy was not so I removed the moss from wood and was semi happy. Found a nice piece of dragon rock at Dorry's which I used to replace the wood with, now I was more happy. Then I took the crypts that weren't doing so great in the one corner of my tank and move it in front of the dragon rock and now I am content...

Video I shot this evening. Click on the gear icon on the bottom right and select quality 480p for best results.

Here is a suggestion how about going the 3 foot route, all the fishes will have more space to swim around and you might then be able to add 3 or 4 more fish.

    Just my 2 cents worth:idea:

Thought about that, but not worth the amount I need to spend for just a few extra fish. My current setup is so custom made that I would need to start from scratch if I get a bigger tank. Maybe in the future, but for now my current scape is almost 8 months old and has settled nicely.

Yeah maybe in the future, I bought a 3 foot tank with canopy from Loolilocks in December last year for just over R200

Enjoy your own little piece of nature, I enjoy both my tanks so much.

The best nicest thing is to watch and see how a plant transforms into pure awesomeness.
