@DerikPelser: The plant in the far right corner is it an Anubia? And is it planted in the gravel or attached to a piece of wood or rock?

Dude you have clearly not seen my other thank. Mine is bigger and heather that most tank keepers can dream of.
And you don't dig it into the subs you lightly plant it with the roots exposed. No need to rocks of drift wood. I've also been in the game a while and we all have our own tricks.

Rather just say the tank looks nice.

    There I said my say.

@DerikPelser: I asked if it was attached to a piece of rock or wood, because the large rock in the picture is obscuring the view so I could not see.

No, just loosely in the subs. Some times I read wrong.
Did not mean to be so harsh.

@DerikPelser: It is fine did not know you can plant it in the substrate, tried it before and it kept rotting away.

Love how the powerhead looks like a cctv camera hiding behind the shrubbery!

So the new tank algae syndrome has started.
I Started noticing BBA / Staghorn over the weekend. Light time currently a 8 hours a day and increased the C02 a notch. Excel will be dosed at 10ml before lights out the next week.
Will be getting some peroxide today to sport treat.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

This is a period I am not looking forward to....

    Later all

Must say I were running 6 hours with that tank when it was fully planted.

You might want to cut down the hours on a new scape while the plants is still busy filling in.

Also remember, those alunod reflectors you have are very effective.

@DerikPelser it could just be your total inexperience in keeping a planted aquarium, give the tank to me rather. Maybe look @ a new hobby? Perhaps fishing or drinking beer?

Game on....I still think we need to help you.

Check on APSA someone posted a nice link to causes of all algae in freshwater, should educate you a bit?

About that drinking beer and fishing?

    Hello All
so my last pic was about 3 weeks ago. Seems like I beaten the algae faze.
Dosed 15ml excel a night and lights on 6 hours a day in 2 intervals of 3 hours each. And no C02. I poped it back in the old thank the last week and a half,
Here a new FTS. Just wish the hare grass would take now.
