    @Ravs , always a pleasure

She was giving me grey hairs too!!
i was stressing about her and what if it was something i couldnt help with and stressing about you if anything went wrong

The comforting knowledge that she was eating all along and showed no signs of stress kept me positive
Very possible that the bd genes played a role but also first time young mothers sometimes also carry a bit longer
Be it as it may, what matters is she and the babies are ok

Thats awesome, its going to look great
Keep us posted.. we want some pictures!!

As for tanks... gee i dont know.. i havent been very lucky with second hand lately

I bought a 1.5m years ago and that tank still holds when i need it however, after that, i bought a 2.2m my pup tank now) and that burst a seam 5 or 6 months after
Got home to half dying fish

Then couple months ago Cesar got a 1.8 for discus..... a week later the bottom panel cracked....
He had his discus and the two albino pups in there
Than God his wife and i were home when it happened

Got a replacement, also second hand .... the second night after he had scapped and added the discus back, the front panel cracked during the night

Thats us done with second hand tanks...

Things nightmares are made off. I'll give James a call during the week and get going on something. Priority is getting Milo his own tank. I cleared out the 1.5 x 600 x 600 for the pups to play in..I still have some eels and small catfish that should be fine with them.

Yes, Coco is very protective. Whenever I'm by the basket she's right there splashing. 2 of the pups ate a little Sardine tonight which is positive.

Congrats man, we need to see some pics of that fishroom;)
Ever thought of building a plywood aquarium for them, may be a little cheaper and with a bottom, back and side / sides plywood and fiberglass a little more peace of mind?

i have had okay luck with big second hand tanks, touch wood.
but have had a few pop over the years, and it is sucks, always makes me worry when it going to happen again.
i was going to try my hand at a plywood build over december as i have 2 cracked tanks glass, but got to work threw so hopefully easter holidays i will get it done. Does seem like a cheap way to get alot of water volume.

I have a mate who does pool repairs plan was to use same fibreglass used in pools, ideally have enough cash to pay his guys to do the work.

Must say, a 2nd hand tank is something I would never consider.
You just don't know how the tank was treated by the previous owner - how it was stored, how long it was stored for etc. IMO it's too much of a gamble.

I think the best thing to use is Fiberglass, they use it for Koi ponds and swimming pools...I have done loads of reading and experimentation, and loooong ago I built a koi pond with fiberglass, the nice thing is that once you've put the matting in and sealed it up with resin it is not only waterproof but strong as heck even though it is slightly flexible....and most important, unlike pond sealers that you paint on, silicon will adhere to fiberglass so no leaking when you glue in your glass.
