The glass and joints may hold under the current load, but someone may come past and bump a broom handle against the glass or even when you are cleaning it inadvertently leaning on the glass, then it will go. 6mm is better.

Yes... you are!!! That you most definitely are!!

Yeah, it was... pity the damn thing never sank in my tank. (4 weeks of soaking just irritated me... I hope you have more patience than me.)

    Now.. back on track...

    6mm

6 mm - ignore the cut-off corner - deflection on 600 mm by 450 mm would require a good 6 mm for a safety factor of 3. 5

Tanks under 1.5ft work well with 4mm. They work exceptionally well for small quarantine tanks

Worked out how much it would cost to make a 4ft. Really thought about making it, but found a 2nd hand one that saved me R200 hand time.

Rather go 6mm, just for safety. Skimp on something else....

Got my Tank yesterday... Very neat and well built. I would like to thank the guy from Tritons Petshop in Witbank for all his help. Pure awesomeness!!! Next month the sump...

    Here's some pick I could take :

Will take more photos under better lighting. It has bracing around the panels at the long sides. And it has a coast to coast overflow that goes down to a sump.
