It comes with the solution too! What a steal. I had to order separately and the total is nearly 500 bucks :(

I paid R230 at LFS, also ordered one with solution from temu for R63 (generic one) and extra solution for R30.

    * the cone is acrylic so I don't know how long it will stay clear.

    * just checked my temu order, the R63 one is plastic.

    * Actually not sure if is glass or plastic:

"Aquarium CO2 Indicator Kit – Glass Drop Checker With 15ml Liquid Solution For Fish Tank Plants, Plastic Material, Fish-Friendly Testing"

    and

" The indicator made of glass is corrosion-resistant, simple and beautiful."

    also

    Material: Plastic

When a fire breaks out in your tank you gonna be ready AF

PS I figured the whole valve/trigger thing gets swapped out, turns out that's not the case. Did you need an adaptor of any kind?
PPS I see you're forcing it open with a tie. Interesting hack, I like it.

My wife was very confused when I told her the fire extinguisher was for the fish tank.

I'll look at getting a turn valve when it's time for a refill, but it seems to be working 100% with the stock valve. No need for any adaptor.

Best way to do it. Those turn valves get expensive when you have multiple fire extinguishers

You can swap it for a turn valve. Some guys so some just leave it.

Looking at the prices for turn valves and I think the stock valve will be good enough.

Planted some monte carlo today and added 10 pygmy corys. Managed to get some frogbit and will hopefully remove the duckweed over time.

    Quickly getting over the duckweed.

At R450 I would rather just buy another backup 2kg fire extinguisher for R830

Man what a terrible plant. I introduced them to my tanks about two years back. Biggest mistake ever. Took over everything, grew so thick it started suffocating itself, the bottom layers died off, forming a layer of dead debris on the substrate that you can not get rid of quick enough. It took us months to get them out of the tanks completely. Only one tank has some more, but we chose to keep it like that. Its a shrimp tank and they seem to be doing great it that tank.

Fed nets full of those duckweed to my Malawi Cichlids, they loved it, the rest I just dumped onto the lawn and let the sun take care of the rest.

Visited a nature reserve outside Pretoria last month and was shocked to see all the water body's in the reserve is covered with duckweed. "Miniature Hyacinth" it seems like.

Do you have any experience with frogbit? It's a lot bigger so I'm hoping it won't stick to everything like the duckweed.
