Yes it definitely will. I half dosed and all the clear/white suckers in my tank turned sky blue instantly. My silicone job is seamless so can't judge the effect on silicone but it can't be good.

It must have a hitched a ride with the snails.

 

Will have to go the HT route because Malachite green is not shrimp safe.

 

Ordered pond medic and an extra heater for the HT tank this morning and the heater was delivered broken, glass was shattered. So will have to buy another heater tomorrow before I can start treatment.

I think the main reason the tetra developed ick is because of low temperature stress, I've been running at 22 degrees.

Hospital tank up and running. The pond medic recommended dosage for 200l is 1ml, not fun measuring out .1ml of blue stain everything.

Finally managed to get rid of the ick. The pond medic cleared most of the ick but it returned with force at about 14 days of treatment.

Made a switch to aquarium salt and heat treatment and have now completely eradicated the problem over the last 5 days. Time to reduce the temp and salinity in the tank and then transfer the fish back into the main tank on Sunday.

Need the space for 3 hillstream loaches that will need to go into QT on Sunday.

 

Not yet, there are a couple of tiny white spots that I missed so will keep them in the HT for a couple of days to make sure. The hillstreams were not delivered from Singapore to the LFS.

I originally started out with an auto water changer/ ATO and temp control, but now I’ve gone the whole hog with ph sensors, CO2 weight sensors, dosing etc etc. I’m busy redesigning the entire system now to make it modular and expandable for multiple tanks.
