    Pump To Strong

    Hey Guys,

testing the pump yesterday and found out its tooo strong, uprooted the plants n send the ADA flying everywhere
its a 1200l and does not have a regulator, is there anything i can do? minimize the flow ??

Ouch! You'll probably do more damage than it's worth by trying to restrict the flow. What is your total water volume? What pump did you buy? What filter setup do you have - sump, internal?

Is it a power head of a canister filter???

Go buy some see through PVC pipe (50cm) that will fit over the output head and spread it over the length of the tank at the top and stop the end piece and drill wholes in the pipe every 2cm apart and let it have like a sprinkler effect....

Hmmm...good idea. With enough holes you shouldn't have any flow restrictions.

Yeah start with a big piece with holes and if the flow rate is too low start making the pipe shorter to increase the flow rate till what you think is appropriate...

got two plecos yesterday, Leopard/Sailfin i belive but am not sure, they still tiny ( around 2cm ) they dark brown with gold spots and white on the tips of the fins

lfs says they wont grow too big, is this true? dont all plecos get HUGE??

any way they look really cool, as soon as i have a decent camera gonna put up pics

btw, Tank has now got proper sprayer bar and water is Crystal :) :)

It's hard to give an ID, and a picture will help so we can wait for that :) Anyway, if you didn't pay too much for it, it is likely that it is the common or leopard pleco, which can get to 30cm or so. Not all plecs get huge, though - some stay at reasonable sizes.

Can't wait for the next update :)
