I have personally experienced this. Chipboard and water is like fire to petrol.

Guys work pays for these things haha.

On another note the pump. Will a 4000lph or 5000lph do? Mathematically it does but which one? The sobo ones are the only ones i can afford right now.

But i need to know which ones I should be aiming for. The guys have been metioning Jebao pumps. The only one i can get right away is the 2000 lph one
https://www.takealot.com/jebao-jecod-dcs-2000-nano-dc-pump-speed-control-2m-head-height/PLID53822851 I dnt think it will be suffiecient.
So will be saving for better one.

So if my stand is 0.8m and my tank height is 0.6m. What head height/pressure I need. Please explain this to me. Also a bit of overkill is fine with me. You will never know what ill build next. :)

    Thanks Guys.

Head hight is the hight which the pump needs to pump the water (its working against gravity so it needs to be stronger) so yours is 80CM stand and 60CM for the tank meaning 1.4 meters head hight.. Now you want to have about 6 times tank turn over per hour so your tank is about 400 liters so you'll need a pump that does 400 x 6 = 2400 Liters per hour at 1.4 meters of head so you could get away with the sobo 4000 LPH (4000 liters is at 0 head hight meaning it should be right where you want it but you can add a ball valve incase it needs to be dialed down) pump for now until you want to buy a Jebao then get the DCP 5000 as its controllable gives some flexibility.

Also good luck with the tank delivery

I agree with @Whoknows that the 4000l should be ok for now for your tank

However, personally if you can, i would go with the 5000l one and if necessary turn it down slightly
Somehow i always find that in time the performance is not the same as when you first set it up
I think that it could be due to dirt accumulated in the pipes which you dont strip down to clean monthly, or dirt when it starts building up in the sump between cleanups, but the little extra is always welcome

    Thanks guys..

I'm really keen on the Jebao...but that will have to be my Christmas present to myself.

Joining this community has cost me money. From late last year to now it's my 3rd tank. I simply have fallen in love with this hobby and community here.

I know that feeling, I recently add tank number 13 to the collection with 3 tanks still being empty. These are marine and fresh water.
