Can't wait to see it filled with water.

No you don't need a mat under the stand the tiles will be fine. I have all my tanks on the tiles just make sure its level and you'll have no issue.

IF you are worried about tiles, you can get teflon feet that sticks on from Westpack, but i never had issues with stands on tiles

Sorry you've had so many hold ups getting it started. Hope it's a smooth ride from now on.

After sitting for so long it's grimy. And I don't want to scratch it while wiping it.

It's not perfect,, still need to sort out the edges,, and clean up. And fit hinges or something to hold the doors in place.

But so happy it's getting done...

How's this for luck. The spot my tanks in, has a tap. . I'm running a pipe straight into the sump. .

Does anyone else do straight from the tap water changes? And add the chems,,, immediately.

This will make a water change so much easier.

Hope the more experienced keeper's can chip in.
I personally don't double dose but just a little extra, won't hurt.

Straight from the tap won't kill your fish, unless the water in ur area is bad. So maybe it's a good idea to regularly test your tap water.

Also the water from your tap, temperature must not be drastically different, if it comes from a mixer, u can match that easily. And add your choice of water conditioner...

I personally had no issues with fish dying from doing this. But I know people like to prepare their water before hand.

Fortunately my tap water has no chlorine or chloramine, however I do still dose with safe just in case. My tap water is extremely soft and very much on the acidic side. Temperatures now in the winter were a bliss but back in the summer I had to use ice packs to get my water cool. Thankfully I use the spare bath with geyser water with the geyser switched off so the water sits there for a week before I use it. If I were to use cold water out the tap it would be about 40degrees plus, this way I get it around 28 to 30
