hi All managed to actually do something after pretty much doing nothing on the tank for a while (work has just been crazy).

here is my intended hardscape - please comment - it was either a wood look or stone look,i went for a wood tree stump kinda look. i will tie some moss to the wood, and will be planting glosso in the foreground.

    Definately some potential.

What about some rocks under you stump creating the idea that its the bottom half of a tree
growiong over some rocky hill. Add little pieces of moss in between the rocks and roots and then cover the rest with
    glosso?
    Just a idea.

hey linga.. its grown so much ;) one thing though.. what ferts do u dose.. looks like u have a bit of an algae problem.. it could also be water flow related..

yeah it has grown, was growing upwards but after the trim, its settling nicely. i dose the profs ferts (plant feeding & hardening mix), the algae came about when i ran out of C02 for about 2 weeks, will be keeping an eye on it. for flow i have now directed the return directly onto the glosso so i will see how that goes. i really dont want to add a powerhead into the tank.

ofcourse not :) yes, well lack of co2 means lack of nutrient uptake = algae.. so maybe hold up on the ferts and do a wc atleast untill the co2 is back in action:) that should help..

    Update Well not really.

havent cleaned the tank, in fact only seen the tank about 3 times in the last 2 or so months. so no ferts or water changes for 2 months only top-ups for the evapouration. the growth is insane, never really expected it, C02 is at about 1 bubble per 2 seconds. can barely see one of the two cardinals in the pic, only see the cories when they decide to swim up to the middle (hardly ever). i will be moving this tank to my new house hopefully soon, and re-doning it. still glosso dominated but maybe a stem plant or some micro sword :)
