Yes I have...... one of my friend work for a company called siteform. They build frame houses, but use a highly specialized metal. Something like galvanized steel but 100 times better. Anyway he has designed a steel frame for a tank that will be cladded with fibrecement boards and then fibre glassed. So the same construction as a plywood tank , but without the inevitable rotting of your tank. Also sorted glass from good ol China. They will import as long as you order more than 5 square meters of glass at a time. And viola massive tank at a fraction of the cost.... Still worried about filtering and heating... But got a few plans...

where did you get those clay pots, went looking for some yesterday and nearly fell over when i saw the price, do not know if place was crazy but R120 each was madness

at legracies next to petmasters the big one in my tank was R160+- and the smaller one was R70+-!

but still much cheaper then large decors!

 

agreed want like 10 for my new tank, R70 sounds alot more like my kinda clay pot
