Not pumping stated volume of water.

Ok...got the pump back. Petland said they looked at it and everything seemed fine to them. took it home, and wow...what a difference. It is now pushing out 514L per hour.....that is a huge jump from +-360L per hour. Don't know what they did to it, but im happy with the outcome.

 

...so i had the same issue again, this time i decided to clean the inlet and outlet pipe (as in the entire pipe)......works like a charm......didn't know so much crap gets stuck in the piping itself.....

 

One other thing that should form part of your regular maintenence which has not been brought up yet is to occasionally put a thin layer of vaseline on the rubber seal around the canister.

If these things pull in even the slightest amount of air in from that seal your pressure and flow rate will drop off drastically. I have a Tetra Tec 2400lt/h canister on mine and if it pulls in and air it stops flowing for a few seconds and has to re-prime every time.

I suspect that filter you just got back just has a new rubber seal on it.
