So my DIY canopy was a bit of a disaster! The lid has warped so I am going to need to install an internal steel frame to keep the lid in shape. I might also add a lip around the frame that will overhang the canopy thereby hiding any potential warping. Anyway, here is what it looks like with warping and all...

Your canopy is looking great dude, I cannot wait to start the build on mine in the holidays my last day is on Friday.

Sorry to hear about your lid being warped sure you will be able to mod.

Like the driftwood you added, I decided to rather buy pre-treated driftwood from my lfs I dont want to take chanes with any nasties on the wood I got from my father in law.

They got a nice big piece the last time I was their wanted R150 for it, hope it is still their when I go their again this weekend.

Tank is really loooking good like the end product.

I will first get my internal sump filter up and running before I start with my canopy build, using the internal sump increases my water volume nicely from 646liters to about 710 liters then including the 16 liters from the internal sump it will be 726 liters YEAH!!!

@hviviers75 - Thanks very much dude. I am/was so bummed about the lid being warped but I will make a plan. I am also going to make the "base" surround that I've always spoken about. It will wrap around the bottom hiding the poly base and a portion of the substrate and I think it will complete the build nicely.

I have also added my actinic bulb to run for an hour in the morning before my main lights switch on and an hour after they switch off. It's only a 10w but adds a lovely effect when the room is dark. I am going to add another 1 or 2 T8's below the ballast box so that I have "working lights" for when I'm feeding, tank maintenance etc. Currently, when I open the lid I am blinded by the lights and can't see a damn thing inside the tank!

I have wired up the inside of the cabinet with a working light as well so I can see what I'm doing inside the cupboard.

All 4 tubes are connected. Current light setup is:
    2x6500k Sylvania
    1x10000k Aquastar
    1x8000k Radium

Still need to tidy up the wiring, straighten the lid and mount the electrics properly in the cupboard and then this build should be complete! Then what? Already thinking of building a setup for my 100l.
