The Hydrocotyle leucocephala leaves are getting red at the tips which is awesome, but i think i will be taking it out as its growing too fast and seems to now be over powering the scape.
will try to get the rotala rotundifolia to gorw in its place.

I have allways had two conflicting views on plant choice for such a small space... Either ALL fine leafed plants or most fine leaves with one plant with bigger leaves a a "focal" point... You currently following the latter very nicely...

If the Pennywort is growing to fast, but you still want one big leaved plant - can suggest one of the old forgotten gems of the plant world - Ludwigia repens.... Gonna go super red in there + a real easy plant to trim and keep looking neat...

Thanks for that. i will keep an eye out for some ludwigia. i have had one of the species before, the only problem i have with it is the same with the pennywort now is that the damn roots on the stems are horrible and you need to keep trimming. well i guess if you wanna have a planted tank you need to work at it. maybe if i keeping cutting and only replanting the upper half of the pennywort would turn out nice. Will have slightly smaller leaves that are actually turning a bit red :)

ok it has been forever since i have updated this tank, but nope not really a tank update.
after all these years of fish keeping i have bought a betta yep my first one ever. looked very light and quite in the lps but after a week in the tank comes to the surface everyday for food and swims around quite nicely. also his colors have darkened greatly very different to when i got him - is this normal, when i got him he was a turquoise color but now is a dark blue with hints of red, ok nuff talk heres the pics.

Lovely colour and the tank looks really good! Did you order the co2 equipment online or did you get it from a shop in Durbs?

Thanks for the comments. all C02 stuff online cant find much in durbs unfortunately, my bubble counter cracked haven't even replaced it just made an assumption on the needle valve and all seems fine.

@GOJ - yep the S. Repens grows like crazy, i actually like the look when its tall so i trim it like that and it steps from the gravel to the back of the tank. the cuttings from them could have covered this tank about 4 times. so yeah anyone interested in cuttings is welcome to them, want to maybe do glosso in the front.
