it's just 2 bad that TASA is most of the time very slow, the only time it speeds up is when someone new joins.

I think he might mean that there is only hightened activity " new posts " when someone new joins. Nothing to do with his internet speed.

With websites your browser only requests a page, gets it and that's the end of it. The website itself has no idea whether you are still looking at it or closed the window or went to go get coffee etc. That's why it uses an hour or so since the last time you loaded a page to determine if you are "online". I know I read a lot and dont post much...

That's true Ferryman, but without trying to sound 'bitchy' - how many of those posts are actually interesting to read? I find that there are some posts which just seem to be waffling about nothing in particular or it's people being nasty and crabby towards others - perhaps it's because I'm so busy lately that I don't have the time to read everything and perhaps I'm just opening the 'wrong' threads. :wondering: Either way, TASA is probably one of the most active fishkeeping forums I've seen and I think it's great, along with the members who naturally make the forum :p

the chatroom might be a good idea but it might draw attention away from the focus of this forum...we could always try and liven things up by interesting articles or weird looking pics of fish...just a thought...
