I have very dense foam on top of the overflow chamber that i have to clean. the foam in the filters is just for bacteria. every few years I clean that foam out.
is Zeolite the ammonia remover stuff?

    what fish do you keep?
personally, i dont like the canisters. high flow - low volume. Just not my cupa tea . . .

    Open the CELL!

I import an aquarium filter foam to supply some aquaculture okes.
The products Filtren and Poret are practically the same from a utility standpoint.

Sondor don't sell aquarium filter foam anymore.

Last I heard they no longer import it.

    Unless that has changed?

Beware Anti-mildew compounds and Flame retardents incorporated into Upholstery(Mattress) Foam manufacture.
Also you will find machine release oils, and lubricant residues during production or cutting.

Toxicity/Safety of these and other compounds in non-aquarium-specific foams for Humans versus Fish in aquaria are vastly different.

Some may be lucky and get away with it, for AGES..., but you'll never be quite secure in the knowledge ....personally I wouldn't risk it.

I have the phone number of the Sondor rep in Cpt if anyone needs it to buy some foam. PM me for the details. Way to expensive for my pocket. Maybe Altum can supply us cheaper.

Morbus. In my 2.4 tank I have around 15 cardinals, 10 neon tetras, 16 black widow/white skirt tetras, lots of platties/swordtail, 4 clown loaches, 5 coolie loaches, 4 Phakistani loached, 5 peppered corys, 4 elbino corys, 5 whiptails (2 types), 2 huge upside down catfish, some other tetras, 2 Banjos (I hope), 2 Siamese foxes (huge), 5 ottos, 1 golden and 1 black longfin pleceo. Can't remember if I missed anything. I have 12 60cm tank with different breeding pairs of various rams, agasizzis - cichlids. 2 45cm tanks with small platties, one 1.2m full of Proffs guppies (breeding like bunnies - probably 200 plus) and another 1,2m with big platties (and babies) and a breeding pair of rainbow cichlids.
