I saw a mini water lily labeled as Nymphiodes indica syn N Thunbergiana ‘Water snowflake’ at the garden centre, an indigenous hybrid that looks interesting/promising Additional info on label: Fringed white flowers, water depth 5-35 cm, roots like to be in the mud.

I’ve used mostly indigenous plants for the outside garden and would be cool to start experimenting with some indigenous aquatic plants for outside. Eg Valliseneria spiralis (V aethiopica) is indigenous and apparently a heavy lifter ito water quality for ponds.

A half barrel sounds like a good option that would also fit in with the general garden aesthetic. But for now just focusing on keeping my tank fish alive, which is turning into a bit of a nightmare in the 180L cause I didn’t quarantine.
