haha the reserved is great but all sometimes you know if they sell like hot cakes.
the only fish that you gonna get are the ones that the "cash" customers have already taken
    the best looking/healthy ones.
and really when theres not much selections left, you get left with the deform or the most ugly one.
I remember when I got my Black Ghost knife last year, he/she was the last only soul in the tank
and sadly he/she was a bit damaged but I still took him/her and now its doing really well and looks a bit too chubby!
So there are always Pro/Cons on each side of the option :D

@Ryno - These were small (approx 1-1.5cm) and as I said, when I look at them at the LFS they have red patches on their sides under there skin/scales/armour..

@KennyG - I like your optimism . I check the tank every day and night to count the numbers. Quite difficult with these little guys!

remember that most corys are very picky about water quality and super clean substrate. are you testing your water? what are the parameters like?
up water changes and get yourself a test kit

@Anine - Thanks for the advice. :) I think these might have been "damaged" when i bought them. I do regular water changes and treat the water. I monitor ph and ammonia all the time and test nitrates. I currently cannot afford the test kit I want.

I had a few Pandas. They even spawned in my community tank. 3 eggs became fry became Teens. Then, inexplicably, they all died off...one after the other. Had them a few months.

@DesertConvert - Seems that the panda's are a weaker species. I landed up buying 2 sterbai so I now have 1 panda, 2 julii and 2 sterbai

Sorry to reply in an old thread but I got some knowledge about C.Panda thatcan be usefull I think : C.Panda lives in cooler / flowing / oxygin-rich riversystems in Peru (nearer to the Andes than others). So they need other tank-circumstances than lots of others (current / cooler). Sterbai are really tropical (Brasil) and can stand temps up to 32C!!! Greetz Aad
