Pink genetically modified angels, what next?

Don't know whether I like them or not. Think I will always prefer the striped angelfish to any other strain.

While the article is a jumbled piece of really weak, slapdash rehashed junk, these ARE interesting fish.

Yes, The "journalism" includes many glaring and stupid errors - mentioning A nigrofasciatum Convict cichlid , yet showing the Pterophyllum scalare variant , and then a Marine angel fish:amazed:

:huh: Although the STATEMENT ABOUT Pink Kissing Gouramies IS WRONG.
I have to point out Pink Kissing Gouramies are leucistic, NOT ALBINO, at all.
Also, They make no mention of Archocentrus nigrocentrus?
Which doesn't exist as a species anywhere to my knowledge.

However, These Angels AND Convict cichlids were produced at least 2 years ago.
Initial Released images were taken under blacklight(UV) with significant fluorescence
This latest posted article with images, is the first large scale public showing of them, under daylight.

Much better, dated Reports of Angels, and Convicts as glow-in-the-dark specimens have been around online and in print media :

Thanks for those very interesting comments and additions. From the links that you posted I can now precisely see what has been done.

In particular the last link that you posted was important. The readers there indicated that it would be illegal to import them into the UK because of their GMO laws. Well, I know South African GMO laws very well as all our research laboratories have to be GMO registered because we produce GMOs when we clone genes for sequencing purposes. Well, because of the GMO laws and the GMO act, I can also say that they will not be permitted in South Africa and it will not be possible to import them here.

I have a black angel pair which I bred myself, which throws black and golden offspring, and I have just realized in the last week that some of the golden babies are in actual fact blushing angels and you can also see right through the gill plates in these fishes as well. Not really what I want to breed, but one can see what sort of interesting fishes start appearing when you breed some of these fancy angels.
