    Neons, Cardinals and Congo's

I must have subsidised the Neon Tetra market already

I just cant keep them for longer than a month or two

hmm. almost all of the tetras should be kept in groups of 6 or more in my oppinion. also should have a ph of about 6.5 and regular water changes.
i have had neons now for more then 6 months and all are fine.

With Neons - generally do at least 20 at a go, my ph is generally about 7 - 7,5

As i have said tried and tried and given up - have unintentionally killed enough of them in my life thanks

    One word - Rainbows!

Hugely underrated and entirely suited to planted tanks.

You could also try some Harlequin rasborras... Have had mine almost a year now and haven't lost any plants. Plus they get along fine with all the other inhabitants

I'm with tracyp on this one. Rainbows they are the best in a planted tank or any tank for that matter

Yes I must agree with @tracyp I have and love them to bits. They leave all my plants alone.

On the Neons - I have 6 for the last 5 months as still going strong, had 7. Fighter killed one. My ph is at 6.5 - 7 and water temp sitting at 22.
    Never had a problem.

Neons van be perfectly kept on Ph around 7. Seem to be some neons exported from asia which are ill / infected. I'd look for a shoal of Moenkhausia or Hyphessobrycon. Cheers Aad
