Could be melting from Excel if you are using. Could also be transplant shock. Don't stress too much about it. It will probably grow back.

Brown water is from new tank syndrome usually.... Diatoms.

Could be the PFP if not capped sufficiently. All I can recomment: CARBON CARBON CARBON. And GOOD quality. The more you pay for it, the better.

I'm using excel, should I stop or will it -
How thick should the PFS be to be sufficient? I will add a bit of PFS and the CARBON.

Thanx for help, I love this Site

@Rickus, I might be wrong, but the plant on the right just behind the rock looks like Mondo Grass and is not an aquatic at all. I recommend that you take it out and plant it in the garden. @azurekoi, @wearsbunnyslippers, am I right in my identification of this plant?

Yip! That's Mondo grass, aka fountain plant.
It will melt/rot in a few months...

Aggenee!!! I have 1000's of mondo grass in my garden, but the short ones.

I hate LPS, they sell stuff that is not true Aquatic.

When planting vallis I found that after you've planted, give it a gentle tug, just enough that the roots don't come up above the substrate - where the leave comes out of the stem is usually white. This should be just above the substrate.
I also read that if you are using excel, you should use a little less but keep to a regular dosing schedule. Sudden spikes are what melts the vals.

That's filling in very nicely! See that Vallis bounced back (with a vengeance!:smile1:). The anubias is looking great too... but am I wrong in saying that there's little action on the lileopsis front? Also, I think you need one of the tall easy stems in the back left-hand corner... like ambulia or H polysperma (hope not bl)?

Yip, they are a bit slow. and they keep pulling out of substrate and floating around. and the algae is always on them....

Will try to get some, LPS does not always stock true aqau plants...

    Wish I can have a Co2 system,
maybe I should leave the excel and use DIY co2...

Well, if you can't get either (both really grow like weeds my side) then we can do another postage goround? I don't actually have any to spare at this minute, but in a month or so should have some clippings..

Are you dosing anything other than Excel?

    hmmm... thought so!

I've never used the seachem range... but I just checked on their website... Comprehensive is the micro-elements(that quote is directly from their site) I think you need a source of the macros.

I capped mine as well. Purely for aesthetic reason. Like the look of pfs, but need the nutrients of Flourite.

@Rickus I can send you some H polysperma. Have to trim mine every week.

@gdt78 - understatement of the century - it's actually a bit scary! Will be sending some to a friend in Durbs next week - that's how well that single cutting you sent is doing!
