try 10% twice a week. you will see a significant reduction in nitrates, doing the smaller water changes removes more of the poo from the system befor it can significantly build up ammonia-nitrites-nitrates (via gravel vacuuming), and removes existing nitrates from the water column befor the levels become critical. the easiest way to see the results will be in the accelerated fish growth that you will see.

in spite of all the gadgets and chemicals out there, i still believe that the best way is small frequent partial water changes.
