    DSCF2254.jpg
What can i do or get to stop this from getting worse, i added salt and the tank already has rooibos tea.
I remove the poo every saterday and do a water change 10perc twice a week. Also noticed one of my
guppy males has a small cut in tail so i think he might have it aswell. What meds can i get ? I can get it from george or mosselbai
, best meds that does work

What size is the tank? How many fish? You might have to do bigger water changes. Have you tested the nitrates?

Marius, fin rot is often caused by poor water quality. So first test your water and make sure please.

On another note, do you keep the siamese fighter with the guppy males? If so, it might be fin nipping as well. This areas can then get infected. I would therefore recommend that you first try to find the cause before you treat with any medication.

Are you keeping them together? No separation?
Do more frequent water changes and only use Rooibos. Other teas have caffeine which is bad for the fish.

Is any of the others showing signs of fin rot? It looks more like fin nipping. I had one boy who was alone in his tank that shredded his tail fin on a monthly basis - I think it was getting to long and he basically was just trimming it to keep it at a decent length. He never took off to much and it grew back beautifully. From what I can see it is just the tail fin right?

Another reason why they do it is from frustration/boredom. Rearrange the tank once a month to make it look slightly different - that should help. Or what I did is swop my boys from tank to tank so that they don't get bored.

The red male fins was nipped but was a while ago, fins goes under the glass and the male in the seperated part nips the fins. Okey ill check my ph and the rest.

@Wyvren that does make sence, only the rear fin is nipped. So maybe this might be a nip situation. @Dirk the ph shows between 7.5 - 7.8 . Also on the 2 male guppies,i saw another male fins have small type of cuts, but my other half said that one female nips them.

@Marius Swart is any of the other fish tails torn or nipped? If it is just him then you know its fin nipping. Plus finrot shows up in betta's with a black edge on the fins.

@Wyvren there is no black edge. There is a red male but that was from a while ago, the other male with those small tales,i checked and there is nothing wrong with his fins. What can be done? Should i put the males so they can see females because this happened about 2weeks after i removed the female. 3 females in a tank(Seperated) and 3 males in another tank(seperated)

Nope Marius this is one thing we don't have control over, some are fin nippers others are not, they do it because the tail becomes to heavy for them or if they get bored in the tank. Swop the males around and see if that helps.
