    @Amazonian

Very nice. Love the wild type Severum.

TBH, your Discus don't look too happy. I think they are really struggling. Not sure if a busy Cichlid tank is ideal for them.

I know its not the ideal tank situation for the discus although they join all the other fish in the feeding frenzies and activities.
They don't hide . . . but I know . . . they're not really a community fish and will definately be happier in a quieter environment, mainly on their own.
Thanx for reminding me - I will have a spare tank for them one of these days - some of my wife's fish in the house is occupying one of my garage tanks until her tank is cycled (she changed the setup . . . again !)
I plan to put a UV light on the filter system in the tank for the discus. That is one of the reasons they are currently in this tank - there's a UV filter.

@Amazonian .. glad you moving the discus out.... over and above the extra cae they nee, I dont think they stand a chance at getting enough food with the Uarus and severums around especially as these grow...

    thanks @MariaS
yes they all get along, taken time to get the balance rite, ended up with a few rouge females witch caused havoc, and the tank has not been rescaped since (mostly cause i do not feel like getting bitten) and they seem quite happy. have a few split fins and ruffed up lips from time to time but nothing that has left me needing to move fish.
have 8 mids ranging form 15cm to 40 plus cm, young 10cm dovii female and 30cm jardini arowana in the tank.

Hahah I had to laugh at your reason for not rescaping!!!
I didn't realize they would do that..

That's some big guys you have... 40cm is big....

And WOW... welcome to arowana world.... you have been keeping that a secret?? Just joking..

Well they should be perfect tank mates for a jardini (I think..)
Now we need pictures of the arowana ;)

um ja midas not so friendly especially when it comes to moving there territory around and they are hiding in the cave at the time. makes them quite easy to catch thou as they will generally charge a net and catch themselves.
Ozzy the jardini is actually my 5 aro first in many years thou, decided that if i want a Asian one day better get good at keeping them again so he is school fees till i get budget for Asian. will do a post on him.

few terrible pics (really difficult to capture the beautiful blue she has) of the little female Dovii i have, Her name is Werner named after a staff member who saved her when she jumped out of another tank, he passed away soon after so felt it was apt to name her after him.

Ja.. its amazing how they each have their own characters.. My two albino red Oscars used to do that when they were in breeding mode.. don't think they bite as sore though!

Glad you got the Aro... Jardinis are cool too, nothing wrong. Like the Asians they develop their nice colour and pattern as they get older.
Wish you all the best with her and Look forward to a thread, will be interesting to follow her development
