Pretty much how I envisioned how it would look in the end, now to leave it standing till end of February and then start stocking it though I still have no idea what to stock it with.

IMO, ur plants are covering too much of ur hard scape.. i'd rather plant the bigger swords at the back of the wood..but then again, if ur happy, u should leave it then :)

If those grow big it would make an ideal place for your dwarf puffers.
You can start adding pond snail for babies so your puffers have food.

Yeah that was my idea, already mailed my supplier and told me he has puffers in stock the figure 8's and green spotted he just needs to get me the pricing. He will also provide me with loads of Asian trumpet snails. I can basically keep 2 of them in the tank so I will get a male and female.

These 2 are actually brackish and grow large. You will need a bigger tank than 40l.

Just get yourself pygmy puffers. I saw them at @Pet Stop the other day and wanted to buy them all! They grow to a maximum of 2cm if I'm not mistaken... Hmmm WiKi...

There are only a handfull real freshwater puffers. The dwarf indian puffer(pygmy puffer) The red eye puffer and another one that Altum imported the other day.

Yeah the web is a bit unclear about it but Figure 8 and green spotted puffers do get big and brackish

I forgoed the idea of a puffer tank so I decided to go the community tank route, bought 10 cardinals (soon to be 8 because two of them dont look too peachy, guess they are just fragile because everything is pretty much optimal) and 6 Long Finned Zebra Danios who swim around like a bunch of kids on a sugar high. And a single male Betta:

Bought a 30 liter container with a turn tap on the bottom filled it with some water added some water treatment to remove the nasties and added a airstone will use this when I do water changes:

Just watch the betta with the cardinals. They will make a good meal.

Think I got a betta with a good temperament he staked out the power head area for himself since there is a deadspace were there is no current flowing he ventures out for a while exploring then goes back there to take a rest. I think he is more intimidated by the hyper active Zebra Danios.

Yes, I find Beta's so have the widest number of personalities. You are possibly lucky! I've had a beta with neons before who was fine, but then another instance where the beta chowed them up. Funnily enough, he only at their heads. *yuck*

Re the overflowing story, the "side" on mine is shorter than the back. When it got blocked it would overflow to the spot you had the heater and go down that hole. Was never really a problem.

So this is what my tank looks like now I am pretty happy with how it turned out from a R200 tank I found to this:

Also Whipme was kind enough to provide me with some moss which I wrapped around my piece of driftwood will see what it does:

Also my cardinals are displaying brilliant colors its something to see 12 of them swimming around the tank:

Also I bought some stuff I returned to the LPS which I did not use so I had some credit, decided to get Tetra Plant (PlantaMin) and I am happy to report that it works really well, my plants look healthy and green and are sprouting multiple leaves:

Did my first water change today and pretty much went without any issues, I just need to make a funnel using a cut 2liter bottle would make filling up my tapped water storage much easier:

Man, small fish rock. When I populate my tank again, it's gonna be stacked with Celestial Danio (Galaxy Rasbora) from side to side!
