Thanks for the info, it was definitely informative. Thanks for the heads up on the fire eel. He or She, is somehow stunted. Iv had him for now 3 years and he hasn't grown more than 25cm. He hasn't got a big mouth. His actually very active eel during the day. Always swimming around and loves to lie in my hand when i feed him.

But thanks for the suppliers in JHB and CT. I really appreciate it.

Rainbows a bit of a passion for mine for many years... Wont get into the whole BL thing - said my say on it in an article under Rules and regulations...

Yip, three year old Fire eel should be a LOT bigger than 25cm... In a way good for you(and your situation with smaller,snack sized fish...),but wish you could have seen my meter long guy - same behaviour as yours,but huge!! lost him during the rolling blackout Eishkom a few years back

Look out for a Rainbow called Melanotaenia parkinsonii - very underrated... Had a 14 cm male that was the jewel of the 12 or so Australian species I kept. Realy envious of your Bedontia gaeyii... Only encountered them once when living in CT many years ago and bought all 11 there was... LOVED them...

In your 1st post you asked if anyone on here has a ausie or New guinea tank... Putting up an big paludarium soon that will only have some fish from there...Hypseleotris gobies(Empire gudgeons or peacocks - not sure yet),Threadfin rainbows,some Pseudomugil spc... and hopefully some of those Ausie dessert gobies if I can source them...

@Dolphin will be importing them for me when he finds them(found any yet Dolphin?) - seasonal in Australia - the dessert gobies i might bring by myself later...

Dont read to much into the BL discussion(it,s old and frequent...lol) - happens to almost everyone who introduces themselves here and mentions the desire for an "unmentionable"...lol ---> I love this Forum and have got a lot from it - just as in real life,you get all kinds of characters - stick around,you'll learn alot....

PS: How about some pics of your B.gaeyii ? Would love to see them....
