ranchu goldfish eggs

howdy all,
saw my male ranchus nailing my female into a corner last night so i took them out to hand spawn.
got quite a few eggs,
one tub the parents are only ranchu and the other tub is from a female ranchu and my male oranda that also wanted part of the action.

i spawned them in tubs,that are now in an incubating tank,with a uv filter air stone and heater at 70 ,as soon as they hatch ill swop the uv filter with a sponge filter.

thanks for having a look ill keep posting updates as they hatch and the fry grow.

Incredibly difficult ,most of the time we get runts at rip off prices

@Mike Roos yes :blushing: , even if I do hear of any goldfish its so far away and I don't like the idea of shipping . I had a few spawning (normal goldfish) , but I didn't attempt it this year, last years babies is getting bigger than the stock I bought like 3 years ago .

Very very impressive . When they get big enough I would love to buy some from you . Do keep us updated. What will you be feeding them ? I know BBS work great for me but lost a few in the beginning .

 

thanks ,yes ill definately keep you guys updated ,im hoping to have some quality lil guys here,at least we know the parents are decent,i think im gonna be feeding them boild egg yolks in the beginning

conditioning wise ,
water wise im running a hob uv ,hob aquaclear and a diy window planter pot plant box bio filter diy,(think its a king of diy vid on youtube works well u can mod it to ur needs)im running filter flos and fibre,loolitubes,an airstone and bio balls
and ive been doing daily 15 %wc weekly 50 %wc evry 2nd week i do 100%wc

food ive ben feeding 3 times a day if possible a combo of brine shrimp(adult) and hikari lionhead pellets
ive also been dropping and raising the temp from about 24 to 26 to 28 and then down in 2 degress then back up

seems to have worked well if u guys have any tips of fry care pls let me know,i know alot about it but never enough !!!!

Awesomeness.....well done, please keep us updated...I dont have allot of knowledge on Goldfish, so it will be interesting to see their growth rates, also what doyou feed them? Surely not bbs?

 

got them all in the tub,check them in the corners,so glad they doing well
