Hi Guys, sadly I lost my Red Tail Monster today.:(
He punctured his eye and went downhill from there. Now I rescaped and I'm ready to get started with one again.
Does anyone have a Red Tail Catfish they would like to part with??

Still a bit small in my honest opinion unless it is lower with a huge footprint. From seriouslyfish

"The largest specimen recorded by science measured 53.2″ (134cm), and weighed more than 40kg. Reputedly it can grow even bigger in nature."
    And planet catfish saying 1100mm.

How about the Shovel-nose Tiger Catfish. Does he also need this much space??

all giant cat fish are a bad idea unfortunately
tiger shovelnose also get 1meter long
go past petmaster in boksburg and look at the redtail in the pond it is apparently only 2 years old
go look at mfk forum how guys keep there beast and you quickly realize a pond or tank that is at least 1.2 wide and 3 meters long is the only way to keep these monsters
hints why i do not have one

    I disagree all together....

You don't need a tank, you can gooi them into a plastic pool like Willem did here on TASA.
Or you can gooi it on the braai if you don't get too attached to it..... Just kidding, they do get big I got two at one stage that was a meter long each. They chowed 8 goldfish a week as soon as I got them they went to the local LFS. I had a 5ft tank for them and still I felt sorry keeping them as they were for me too big for that tank.

you put 2 1meter long fish in a 1.5 meter long tank and you only felt they where to big for the tank
lol no offence but really wtf why would you even share that level of cruelty

No offence but learn to read @top dog:

I had them for 10min dude got home from the guy I bought the tank with the fish in and took them (the fish) to the LFS.

On another note here you go, this seems to be right up your alley:

    I get that,
Hence I mentioned what Willem did with a pool, I think that will be the best way to do it. Not a small pool either.

Same goes for your panasius. I've heard of and experienced them breaking tanks.
