Hi. Quick question. Has anyone used slate roof tiles in their aquarium. And is it safe? It's the black slate roof tiles. Thanks in advance

Why not. Not messing with hardness / ph.
Only thing to be carefull about are the sharp edges !!!

Yup, they can be very rough.
A fish brushing against one might lose some scales.

I've seen (online) a lot of people using it in their setups, including as a background, which looked very good (irregular pieces placed as close together as possible, with Java fern and moss in the gaps). Must have been siliconed / glued onto the back glass. I suppose it was quite heavy though.

I have used slate (not roof tiles but the odd shaped natural pavers),works great, if it has sharp edges just take a broken tile and rub the two together to round the edges slate is not that hard. Go for it.
