    An Update

Feels like I'm moving backwards instead of forward with my tanks. Fish doing well, plants and algae giving me a headache!

My 15 Liters - Still need to figure out how to control algae in them. Plants still need to grow in after a serious failed attempt at rescaping. New plants on order and need to come up with a suitable ligh for this setup. Budget restraints at this stage making it a bit difficult.

Tank giving me the least of my problems. Had a bit of a problem when my light said goodbye and I fell for a pretty red globe. Fish looked amazing but algae soon took over. Back to normal light.

Main Tank. Pulled out half the plants the other day. Pure frustration. Added some new ones that still needs to grow in.

    What it looked like previously:

Also need an id on this plant please. Not the best photo.

Need all the advice and suggestions I can get. Aquascaping is not my strong point and I'll appreciate advice with regards to placements, what to remove, what to add etc.

    Thank you!

Hi Dinky. I think it all looks pretty good actually! +1 on the Rotala Rotundifolia :) why not get 2 pieces of wood 15cm wide and 15cm higher that the 3 tanks. Mount 2 t5's on it. Wood piece on the left of the 3 tanks and the other piece of wood on the opposite side. Like a bridge..?

A quick update - guidance and advice needed please - algae in this tank driving me nuts!!!

Deficiency in another tank - Dosing the Flourish range as instructed. Not sure what to add or if I should just give it a bit of time.

    IMG_6322.jpg

The least of my problems. Aquascaping's not my strong point but I'm hoping this will turn into something given a bit of time for the plants to grow in.

@Dinky how long do you run your lights for? They look rather strong for low light plants like anubis? Do you run your co2 before putting on your lights, as I see you are running desposable canistors?

@HennieRoux - I run them for 6 hours a day but I'm still running into problems with my plants and algae. I've been looking to replace the lights with something different but I'm still searching.

Will the staurogyne repens and blyxa be happy with less light or should I rather change the Anubias to something different?

I have not been running the Co2 before switching the lights on, but still after switching it off. I now understand I should be doing it the other way around?

Is the disposable type sufficient or should I rather look into an alternative? Any suggestions?

IMO to have a regulator/solenoid on a timer is best, off course it is slightly more expensive, but in the long run it is the way to go, you can have enough so2 allready in your tank when the lights go on, and less when the lights goes off, plants cannot take in the co2 when there is no light! Perhaps look for a second hand one.

Unstavble co2 levels is a majour contribution to algea.

Blyxia might suffer, but styrogene should be ok, blyxia just will not turn nice and red.

    What lights are you using?

There is some nice led units going around these days.

Also look @ getting some ottos or baby bristle nose in your tanks, I have them in all my small tanks, they do a great job.
